James Rod popularly known as EKSU’s most Popular Artist is a talented rapper, beatboxer, and singer from Shasha, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He is well known for his style of rapping using his rhythms to create a superb sound just like the likes of Zaddy MB, Tion Wayne, Freaky B who are also notable for this type of sound in music

Personal Life

James Rod had his primary education at Alikodu Primary School in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the same area he was given birth to and while growing up he attended Alpha Beat College for both his Junior and Senior Secondary Education. He then proceeded to Ekiti State University, Ekiti State to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Geophysics.

Music Career

He started to love music at a very young age, even before he discovered his talent. After he discovered he could sing very well, he then started to nurture his talent to become one of the best singers to emerge from the South East. Since kicking off his music career in 2014, James Rod has consistently sung as a backup for many other artists’ works or as a featured singer.

His first ever single was 'Oh this intro' released in the year 2014, which acted as a form of introduction about him to the world. He merged with another artist in 2015 to drop an Album titled ‘Blick Blimp’ which served as his first collaboration album.
